Directors & Senior Management
Stewart Henderson -- Chairman of the BoardMr. Henderson was CEO of Old Mutual Kenya from 1995 to 2007. At Old Mutual Kenya, he transformed the company from a closed fund into a group of financial service companies with assets under management of over US$ 1 Billion.
Mr. Henderson is an active member of Nairobi's business community and is currently the Chairman of the Eastern Africa Association. He was formerly Chairman of the Capital Markets Challenge Fund and the South African Business Association of Kenya. He is also a member of the CMA Advisory Board and the Institute of Directors of Kenya.
He studied at St. Andrews College Grahamstown S.A (Matriculation), University of Cape Town Business School, Witwatersrand University Business School and the Harvard University Business School.
James R. Dry -- Managing DirectorMr. Dry is the founder of Dry Associates Limited. He initially came to Kenya in 1990 with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to work with the Kenyan government to help put in place the legislative, financial, and administrative support structure for the creation of the Capital Markets Authority in Kenya. Mr. Dry also worked on the rejuvenation of the Nairobi Stock Exchange.
Prior to coming to Kenya, Mr. Dry worked for USAID in Washington D.C. as a Financial Manager for the Agency's loan portfolio guarantee programme and earlier as a Project Manager assisting in the establishment of stock markets around the world. He was also an Advisor to USAID's Office of Donor Co-ordination working extensively with the World Bank and the African Development Bank.
In the private sector, Mr. Dry was a Financial Controller for Coca Cola in Egypt and an Accounting Manager with Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was also a securities broker with Smith Barney, Harris Upham trading corporate, municipal, and federal debt instruments, as well as commercial paper, equities and options.
Mr. Dry holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters degree from the London School of Economics. He is a former Chairman of the American Business Association in Kenya and Trustee of the August 7th Memorial Park Trust in Nairobi. He was also Chairman of the Foreign Businessman's Council in Cairo. Mr. Dry is proficient in French and is married with four children.
Spence M. Dry -- General ManagerMr. Dry is the Business Development Manager for the Company. In this capacity, he is responsible for formulating and implementing corporate strategy. This involves identifying new avenues of business while advancing existing products. He is also actively involved in the arrangement and placement of securities issues – both fixed income and equity-based.
Prior to his working with Dry Associates he was an intern at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. He holds a B.A. from Tulane University, New Orleans majoring in International Relations. Mr. Dry grew up in Kenya.

Pavan Ubhi -- Investment AnalystMs. Pavan Ubhi is an Investment Analyst focusing on fixed income securities and offshore investments. She offers financial planning services to both individuals and institutional clients with the objective of achieving client's long and short term financial goals. She has over two years work experience in offshore investments and is the focal person for Friends Provident at Dry Associates. Ms. Ubhi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Marketing and Management) from Edith Cowan University (Perth, Western Australia), the Award in Financial Planning from the Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII, UK), and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
Aditi Nayar Arun -- Investment AnalystMs. Aditi Nayar is an Investment Advisor focusing on fixed income securities and offshore investments. She offers financial planning services to both individuals and institutional clients with the objective of achieving client's long and short term financial goals. She has also worked as an Auditor prior to joining Dry Associates. Ms. Aditi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Finance Accounting and Management) from the University of Nottingham (U.K.).
Nick Mwai -- Investment AnalystMr. Mwai is an Investment Advisor focused on providing institutional and private wealth clients with investment advice to help them achieve their financial goals. He specializes in Fixed Income Securities, Offshore Investments, and developing new avenues of investment. Prior to joining Dry Associates, Mr. Mwai has worked in banking, amongst other industries, throughout various countries including Switzerland, USA, and Kenya. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Adelphi University in New York and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the International University in Geneva, Switzerland.
Sameer Raja -- Investment AnalystMr. Sameer Raja is an Investment Analyst and Head of Equities specialising in Corporate Finance. He provides clients with financial options and advice in order to match their investment return objectives. Prior to joining Dry Associates, Mr. Raja has had work experience in the UK with a multinational firm. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration (BBA) with Marketing from the University of Kent (UK).
Pensions Team
David Mwakitele -- Pension Fund ManagerDavid is the Pension Fund Manager at Dry Associates. In this capacity, he is responsible for managing the development of this practice area. David holds an honours degree in Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics from Heriot -Watt University, Edinburgh, UK. He started his career in the City of London as a trainee actuary with Willis Faber before returning to Kenya.
He has experience in reinsurance, life insurance and pensions (underwriting and broking) and actuarial consultancy. His experience has been gained in the UK, Kenya and Uganda.
Nguhi Mwangangi -- Research AnalystMrs. Nguhi Mwangangi heads the Research Department at Dry Associates Ltd. Since joining the firm in 2008 as a Research Analyst, Mrs. Mwangangi has focused on providing expert analysis and investment guidance on both local and international investment instruments. She is also the designated portfolio manager in charge of monitoring the pension clients' investments.
Prior to joining Dry Associates Ltd, Mrs. Mwangangi worked as a Pensions Administrator at Alexander Forbes Financial Services. She holds a BSc. degree in Actuarial Science from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification.
Operations Team
David Meyer -- IT ManagerMr. Meyer is the IT Manager at Dry Associates. In addition to training staff in new and evolving IT systems and procedures, he is currently redesigning the Company's website. Mr. Meyer has multiple IT certifications including an International Diploma in Computer Studies. He is currently pursuing further studies in Computer Forensics.
Jackie Send -- Business Development Coordinator Ms. Send is Business Development Coordinator responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies for the company's varied products and services. She joins Dry Associates through an AIESEC (Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences, Economicques et Commerciales) exchange programme arranged through the University of Nairobi chapter. Prior to coming to Dry Associates, she worked for the American Chamber of Commerce in Amman providing outreach services to American companies in Jordan. Ms. Send spent a year in Kenya with exchange programmes in 2008. She holds a B.A. in International Relations and Economics from American University in Washington, D.C and also studied African Economics at the United States International University.
